Join us in building Jeri’s Memorial Bench:

Giving the women of Skid Row a safe sanctuary in honor of Jeri Wingo.

Would Works (WW)* is fundraising to create a healing planter bench for the unhoused women of the Downtown Women’s Center (DWC)** in honor of Jeri Wingo. Jeri was a WW Artisan and board member, an artist and avid chronicaller of African American history, a gardener, a community activist and a long time resident of DWC. Your tax deductible contribution to WW will not only help give the women of Skid Row a safe, and beautiful place to sit and enjoy a bit of greenery, it will also support WW Artisans to build this bench while building valuable job skills in the craft of woodworking.

Jeri’s bench will be installed on the DWC resident patio where Jeri kept her tomato plants–keeping her memory and vitality present for the women of DWC for years to come.

*WW is an LA based social enterprise that gives people with barriers to employment the opportunity to work, build community, and develop skills in the craft of woodworking.

**DWC is an LA based organization focused exclusively on serving and empowering women and gender diverse individuals experiencing homelessness.

Any contributions that exceed the $5k goal for this bench will be attributed to an Artisan scholarship fund in Jeri’s name.
