Smile for the Camera, Las Fotos is in the Shop!
From photography to wood working, the arts play an instrumental role in all Angelenos daily lives.
Art is used as a force for community empowerment while binding people and place together.
Founded in 2010, Las Fotos Project has provided a platform for teenage girls and gender-expansive youth from communities of color throughout Los Angeles by teaching them photography.
Although Would Works and Las Fotos Project provide resources to different communities, we serve the same purpose of providing opportunities to individuals who are at a disadvantage systemically and empower them by providing them with a skill that can lead to future opportunities.
These opportunities and resources lead to job and housing security for these youth as emerging adults in society.
In an effort to merge communities and broaden opportunities, this month we will be collaborating with Los Fotos and bringing our talented photographers and artisans into the shop!
Join us in a collaborative class to have your photo taken by the photographers of LFP and learn from WW artisans, how to fabricate a frame!
