We’ve partnered up with Nick Offerman’s woodshop

Would Works is now partnering with Offerman Woodshop (OWS) for a few work sessions this fall. Offerman Woodshop is a collective of woodworkers and makers that work out of Nick Offerman's woodshop in LA. This group of amazingly talented woodworkers makes fine furniture, plank canoes and things like hipster moustache combs.

The collaboration came out of mutual admiration. Would-Works co-founder, Connor’s path has crossed many times with OWS shop leader R.H. Lee through the woodworking and homeless services/housing communities in Los Angeles. Connor was impressed by the work of OWS and their knowledge of woodworking. OWS loved the idea of providing opportunities for woodworking to individuals experiencing homelessness in Skid Row.

Matt Micucci (Matty) from OWS lead a series of work sessions with Connor for five Would Works artisans. The Would-Works artisans worked on meat paddles, wooden postcards and OWS holiday ornaments in preparation for holiday sales at OWS. The Would Works artisans took fondly to Matty and loved the opportunity to learn from him.

This was definitely the beginning of hopefully great partnership. Read more about the collaboration at their recent blog post.

After 13 years, Would Works has made the difficult decision to sunset operations at the end of 2025.
